Class Environmental Assessment

Detail Design for Intersection Improvements on both Highway 7 at Belmont 6th Line (GWP 4040-17-00) and on Highway 7 at Belmont 2nd Line and Sama Park Rd (GWP 4032-20-00).

The environmental scope of work for the studies will comply with the Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities (MTO Class EA), MTO Environmental Reference for Highway Design (MTO ERD), and MTO current directives, accepted standards, specifications, practices, policies and procedures.

These studies carry forward the recommendations from the previously completed Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) published in June 2010. The recommendations from the previous study include the installation of turning lanes to improve the safety and operation of the intersections and the realignment of the south leg of the 2nd Line intersection.

Under the MTO Class EA, the studies are classified as Group “B” undertakings and the environmental assessment documentation that will be prepared for the studies is a Design and Construction Report (DCR). Results of the five (5) year review of the TESR will be documented in the DCR for each study.
